Hi, I am a Certified Personal Trainer and I thought you would like to know a little bit about me and your Fit by Kim Personal Training, especially if we are going to start working together. I had always been an active girl, very athletic, and always on the run. I always had a ton of energy, which being in great physical condition is a fabulous side benefit—it was always hard for a person to keep up with my energy level.
Once I became a full fledged woman, nothing really changed with my workouts, my healthy eating, and always being on the run. I still had a ton of energy. Then I married and had children when I was relatively young, which also kept me very active.
However, there came a time when I strayed from my daily workout routine because I felt I just could not keep up with it and everything else in my life. I was a mother of two, had a full-time 40-plus hour a week job, a house, husband, and pets to keep up with—the usual suspects (excuses)—working out fell to the wayside fast, along with my healthy eating habits, until I was just no longer doing it. I would always say, “I will get back to it,” but never did.
My family went through some changes in 2004 that weren’t the best of times. Negative stress levels abounded (positive stress—good; negative stress—bad!) and suddenly, before I knew it, I had dropped 23 pounds because of the overload of negative stress. This isn’t the best way to lose weight; it is actually a very bad way. Let me reiterate, this is just one of several bad ways to lose weight.
I decided to restart my workouts because I needed my strength to deal with everything that was happening in my life, as well as I needed to be healthy for my kids. Once I started the workouts and put my diet back on the healthy track, I found myself feeling much better, getting stronger, and looking better than I had in years! I had a renewed sense of self, pride, and most important, purpose!
I decided to become a personal trainer. In 2007, one month before my 41st birthday, I became a Certified Personal Trainer. It was the best decision I ever made for myself.
I am living my purpose in life and I am ready to share my knowledge with you. I want to help people like you reach their personal fitness goals, just as I have. I want to help you and others to continue to challenge yourselves, as you grow stronger and healthier.
People need to understand that working out should not be thought of as a luxury. It is a must. With the rising cost of health care and medications, you simply cannot afford to be unhealthy. God intended us to treat our bodies as temples, we have so many natural ways we can stay healthy with healthier diets and working out. These methods are more affordable than the doctors and pharmacies, and it is time people start thinking that way.
